While managing in-house technology, I saw how easy it is for systems to grow messy over time. New tools get added. Shortcuts get taken. Security becomes something you deal with after a problem shows up.
That doesn’t sit right with me.
In a small community, a ransomware attack isn’t just an IT issue — it impacts families, employees, and customers you see at the grocery store. Reputation matters here. Stability matters here.
I’ve been responsible for doing technology the right way — implementing strong security standards, building structured systems, and handling incidents from start to finish. That responsibility shaped my standard.
And I won’t lower that standard just because a business is small.
